Polk Deputies say they've figured out who's been stealing manhole covers from a neighborhood in Poinciana. Now, they need to find him.
Investigators say Christopher fink of Haines City made off with 166 manhole covers, from Village 7. The manhole covers disappeared from manholes along Lake Marion Creek Road and several side streets. The thefts occurred between January 9th and 23rd. In all, the value of the manholes is more than $22,000.
Investigators say Fink was stealing the manhole covers, then trying to sell them for scrap.
Fink is being charged with one count of Grand Theft, one count Dealing in Stolen Property, and one count Giving False Verification to a Secondhand Metal Dealer, which are all felony charges. Investigators say they will likely add more charges, once they've located and arrested him.
If you have any information that can help investigators find Fink, you can contact Detective Jacob Alderman at 863-297-1100, or place an anonymous tip with Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
