A Sarasota County School bus driver is not behind the wheel anymore. 52-year old Javier Aramayo-Angeles made unwanted advances toward a 16 year old student on his route.
Deputies say it happened Thursday afternoon as Aramayo-Angeles was making the afternoon run. "He goes ahead and he takes her on a detour on her route. On the normal way that he usually drove her to her bus stop. He pulled the bus over. Asked her to come from the front" said Lt. Tim Enos with the Sarasota Sheriff's Youth Services Section.
Deputies say the driver touched her shoulders and kissed her cheeks, and twice kissed her lips. The victim demanded to be driven home, which he did.
"She absolutely did the right thing. She felt uncomfortable. Somebody put her in a bad position on that bus, in reference to the bus driver. She got off the bus. She immediately reported to her father her father contacted the sheriff's office"said Lt. Enos.
Aramayo-Angeles is charged with Battery. He has been assigned to work in the bus yard, away from students, while his case winds through the court system.
