PASCO COUNTY, FL -
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office lost a valued member of its canine unit due to cancer.
K-9 Lee died after veterinarians discovered a large tumor on his spleen just last Friday, the Sheriff's Office stated.
His death has been difficult for Deputy Robert Wilkins who has worked with Lee since he was a pup.
K-9 Lee was nine years old and had worked for the Pasco Sheriff's Office for seven years in narcotics and patrol.
K-9 Lee was still on active duty and working the road daily until he died on Monday.
