Humidity, rain stick around NC until Thursday cold front

Updated:

Rain and humidity returned to central North Carolina Monday and will stick around until a cold front moves through Thursday.

Heavy rain and storms hit central North Carolina Monday keeping temperatures in the 70s all day, but also dumping anywhere from one to near four inches of rain.  Humidity was also incredibly high, so our temperatures in the 70s didn't quite feel like it.  Our normal high this time of year is 90.

Tonight some scattered showers and storms are possible, mainly in the evening.  Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy and humid with lows in the upper 60s to around 70.

The stationary front will start to dissolve on Tuesday, but it will be mostly cloudy with a couple afternoon and evening showers and storms possible.  Highs will reach into the upper 80s.

By Wednesday, highs should get back to normal.  Look for partially sunny skies with a couple PM showers and storms possible.  The high will be around 90.  Thursday will be similar to Wednesday, except a bit hotter.  The highs on Thursday will be in the lower 90s.

By Friday a cold front will approach, so there will be a few PM showers and storms around.  Otherwise it will be cloudy to partly sunny with a high of 89.

Saturday looks like the driest day, with nothing more than a stray shower or thundershower possible.  It will be partly sunny with a high of 88.

Sunday another front will be around, so with a mix of clouds and sun, a couple showers and storms will be possible.  The high on Sunday will be around 90.
