1 dead in Bradenton shooting

BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) -

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly late night shooting, where the victim shot and killed a gunman.

It happened around 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of 24th Street West, officials said.

Two men were sitting outside in the carport when they were approached by three masked males, dressed in black.

The suspect pointed a gun at one of the victims and ordered him to the ground. The victim pulled out a gun, and during an exchange of gunfire, the suspect was shot, deputies said. The victims fled on foot, uninjured.

The suspect, James M. Brady, 26, was pronounced dead on the scene by Emergency Services.

No charges have been filed. Authorities have not released a motive in the shooting.

Detectives are searching for Joshua M. Pinkham, 39, and Roy D. Potter, 38.
