Pint-sized pirates lined Bayshore Boulevard Saturday for the annual Gasparilla's Children Extravaganza.
"I was waving at everybody and they were like throwing them at me," said 6-year-old Mia Machado.
As pirate-themed floats paraded down the streets, people aboard threw colorful strands of beads to the crowd.
"You get to have fun and you get to catch beads," said 8-year-old Shelby Lasek.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn brought his daughters, Grace and Colleen, along to help hand out the City's plastic treasures.
"It gets bigger and bigger every year," said Mayor Buckhorn. "There's tens of thousands of people on this parade route."
The alcohol-free, family friendly event wrapped up with fireworks at 7 PM. Adults get to have their fun next weekend. The Gasparilla Pirate Fest begins Saturday at 2 PM.
