Pasco deputies say this video may show two boat thieves
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -
The Pasco Sheriff's Office is looking for two boat thieves, who may have been caught on video. This is the second case in recent weeks that deputies have investigated a case of equipment stolen from docks in West Pasco County.
Investigators say the thieves stole the boat from a residence in the Gulf Harbors subdivision in New Port Richey, sometime between 6pm on January 8th and 7am on January 9th. The boat was tied to a dock at the home.
The boat was later recovered at Green Key Beach, but the motor, a 15 horsepower Yamaha outboard motor, is still missing. The motor is valued at $2,500.
The owner of the boat says he was a victim of a similar theft three year ago.
The Pasco Sheriff's Office released video of the incident. Investigators are reminding homeowners to secure their fishing gear, small motors and other equipment.
