
By the end of February, there will be fewer flights leaving Tampa International Airport, headed to Cuba.
Thursday afternoon, TIA officials announced that two of the three carrier service providers, which offer flights to Cuba, are ending service to the Tampa area.
XAEL Charters, Inc. will discontinue its service between Tampa and Havana as of February 14. XAEL plans to move its flights to Fort Lauderdale International Airport. The final XAEL flight will be on February 14.
ABC Charters will discontinue its service between Tampa and Holguin, Cuba, after February 28. The service currently offers one flight per week.
In a statement, Janet Zink, TIA's Director of Communications, said that it's natural to see some adjustments in service, as new gateways open, and the market continues to evolve.
Island Travel and Tours will continue to offer flights between Tampa and Havana on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
