National Strategies Public Relations, a PR and marketing firm in Tampa, is on the hunt for non-profit organizations that could use a little free exposure.
The business, which opened in Tampa just over a year ago, is a small operation with a big idea to adopt charities that are having a tough time in this economy.
"Through the fiscal cliff conversations, the tax increases, the budget cuts that are coming down the way charities and non-profits are really struggling," said Jennifer Vickery President and CEO of NSPR.
She says her firm is putting out a call for entries to any 501c3 in the Bay Area that could use help with marketing and public relations but can't afford it.
NSPR plans to select 11 non-profits and give each one a month of free services. "Giving them a makeover, sending out basically messages to the community, to the media, getting the media on board with what they're doing," Vickery explained. "Because we know that there's so much power in communicating their message."
Each interested non-profit organization must submit a written essay of 200 words or less explaining what they do and why they need help. Entries must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 18th.
"We'll basically take their essays and meet with our board and make the decisions on the non-profits that could really use the additional spotlight," Vickery said.
Winners will be announced January 31st.
