A staircase along Bayshore Boulevard is supposed to help pedestrians avoid traffic. This morning, however, a truck tried to take the stairs.
Tampa Police say Michael Adams was driving his Ford F-150 truck northbound on Bayshore, just before 7 this morning. As he rounded a curve near the Davis Islands Bridge, he lost control. The truck slid off the road, through the grass, and ended up on the staircase.
No pedestrians were injured. Adams also escaped any injury, but he did receive a citation from TPD for careless driving.
