Baron Von Duke VercruysseRandall Tilton went to bed before the countdown to the new year...but sounds from across the street forced him to see what was going on.
"When I was in bed I heard all of this loud screaming and it wasn't new years typed of screaming it sounded really violent."
The man Tilton says was screaming was walking back and forth in front of the home. Tilton said it looked like a fire was burning inside the home.
"You could see like a haze like a smoky haze but I didn't see any flame."
Pasco Sheriff's Office Public Relations Officer Doug Tobin says, "when firefighters arrived they were able to go into the house and that's when they found the body of a 52 year old male."
The victim is Rene Dominique Vercruysse. He lived in the home with his twenty three year old son Baron Von Duke Vercruysse.
Sheriff's detectives say that a fight broke out over the son's bedroom being a mess. Detectives say the two got into a physical confrontation and that Baron pulled his fathers legs out from under him causing him to strike his head.
The report says baron then moved his father's body to the master bedroom.
"That's where he got gasoline from the garage doused his father's body and with the gasoline and lit the body on fire," said Tobin.
Baron Vercruysse was arrested on Tuesday. On Wednesday he went in front of Pasco judge Lowell Bray and was charged with arson and first degree murder. He was denied bond because of the murder charge.
