Pasco County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the possibility that a Christmas Eve bank burglary could be part of a bank burglary spree.
Around 4 A.M. Monday morning a suspect broke into the Heritage Bank in the 28000 block of State Road 54, detectives said.
Once inside, the suspect reportedly pried open a cabinet but did not take any money.
Pasco County officials say they are investigating whether this burglary is related to a handful of other bank burglaries in the Tampa Bay area on the same day.
In a separate incident, authorities say a suspect broke into the Bank of Tampa on Amberly Drive shortly before 4:00 A.M., Monday morning. Police say the suspect entered the bank then quickly exited without stealing anything.
On Saturday, December 22, a rear entry door to the Bay City Bank on Highway 41 was shattered but nothing was reported stolen.
Anyone who has any information about the suspect or burglary is asked to contact the Pasco Sheriff's Office Crimes Tip line at 1-800-706-2488.
