Little girl opens gifts Christmas morning at Metropolitan Ministries.
If you're a kid it's the best day of the year. If you're a parent it's stressful. Metropolitan Ministries was full of happy kids and parents Christmas morning.
"It's awesome. It's very awesome," mom of three, Laquanta Ayewa, said. "I was shocked to see all the gifts."
Metropolitan Ministries serves struggling bay area families. This year they helped more than 26,000 of them. Some of the kids who live on site worried Santa wouldn't be able to find them. Volunteers like, Christine Gwild, made sure that fear didn't come true.
"To see the looks on their faces and know that their kids are having a good Christmas and that I can be part of that. It's just wonderful," Gwild said.
Ayewa hopes this Christmas marks a new start.
"It makes me feel very happy," Ayewa said. "This last Christmas wasn't so good. To see the expression on their face it had me very emotional."
