St. Petersburg police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and a third victim injured. One of the dead men, a 25 year old, was one of the gunman.
Here's how St. Pete Police spokesman Mike Puetz says the incident went down. Six to seven men were playing cards behind the Kenwood Village Inn on 34th Street north around 3:30 this morning, when they were approached by two masked gunmen in an apparent robbery. One of the card players, a 41-year old man, pulled out his own gun and there was an exchange of gunfire. When officers arrived they found one of the gunmen dead, still wearing a ski mask with his gun nearby. Paramedics rushed the 41-year old man and a seventeen year old man to the hospital. The 41-year old died at the hospital. The teenager is expected to survive.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victim, nor the gunman who died. They are also still hunting down the second gunman who ran from the scene.
