Peter Bernard joined News Channel 8 in August of 2002. Prior to coming aboard, Peter was already working in Tampa as a reporter and fill-in weatherman. Peter has more than 27 years experience in television news and has worked in St. Louis, MO, Albany, NY, and Pocatello, ID.
Peter and his family enjoy traveling, eating out, and Florida's warm weather. Peter is a fan of new technology and is a "gadget nut."
Peter has filled in for our Storm Team members a few times. He holds a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
As a general assignment reporter, Peter particularly enjoys doing stories that effect change, such as stories that expose wrongdoing, corruption, scams or rip-offs. He also enjoys preparing reports that help people who are not getting a fair deal.
