Jennifer Leigh

Jennifer Leigh anchors News Channel 8 at 7 Monday through Friday nights.  She also reports on stories from Polk County and around the Bay Area. 

She joined WFLA in 1993 as an assignment editor, then worked her way up the producing ranks writing for a variety of newscasts. In 1995 she launched News Channel 8's Polk County bureau and began reporting full time. In July 2012 she became News Channel 8's 7pm anchor. 

Jennifer Leigh is a fifth generation native Floridian who was born in Miami but grew up in Lakeland. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications.

Leigh serves on the Board of Volunteer's In Service to the Elderly (VISTE) which is a non profit organization in her hometown of Lakeland. She also serves as the honorary chair of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Suncoast Chapter's annual Man & Woman Of The Year Gala.

In her spare time Leigh runs for charity, and so far has completed two marathons for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Jennifer still lives in Lakeland with her husband Will.
