Rod Carter co-anchors News Channel 8 Today each morning from 4:30 - 7am with Gayle Guyardo.
Rod reported here at News Channel 8 for several years before heading to WFLA sister station, WVTM in Birmingham Alabama. He returned to Tampa in 2010 to anchor the morning news at News Channel 8. Rod has covered many local and national stories including the championships for both the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists.
Rod's also a board member with the Tampa office of the American Diabetes Association.
He attends Beulah Baptist Institutional Church in Tampa.
