LAS VEGAS (AP) - Testimony has concluded in a Las Vegas court hearing on O.J. Simpson's bid for a retrial of the armed robbery and kidnapping case that led to a conviction and a prison sentence of 9 to 33 years. The 5-day hearing on the former football star's bid for a new trial focused on testimony by Simpson's main trial lawyer, Yale Galanter, who defended the way he represented Simpson.
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Jessica Korda shot a 7-under 65 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead over Hall of Famer Karrie Webb after the second round of the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic. Korda, the 2012 Women's Australian Open winner, had seven birdies in her second straight bogey-free round to reach 13 under on The Crossings course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Magnolia Grove complex.

A press release issued by the International Federation of PGA Tours last week during The Players Championship said that England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each would be considered separate countries when the World Cup is played in November at Royal Melbourne under a new format.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson says that a deal is in place to sell the Kings to a group led by software tycoon. Johnson helped assemble the new ownership group in a bid to keep the Kings in California's capital city, a feat that was accomplished earlier in the week when NBA owners rejected a bid to move the franchise to Seattle.
