Having previously worked in News Channel 8's "Eight on Your Side" consumer unit, Patterson can now sometimes be seen behind the sports desk in addition to his general reporting assignments.

Jeff enjoys the diversity of his job. In the past few years, stories have taken him to hurricane-torn Honduras; airborne with the Blue Angels; inside the Sunshine Skyway; through the eye of a hurricane; and on the sidelines of Florida Field for the state's biggest football rivalry.

In 1999, Jeff earned the coveted Green Eyeshade award for a series about the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Jeff began his broadcasting career in Provo, Utah, where he hosted a magazine format show and worked as a sports anchor for KBYU-TV. He has served as a freelance editor/photographer in Washington D.C. for the Cable News Network, as a state government reporter for WOWK-TV in Charleston, West Virginia, and as a reporter/bureau chief for WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

In addition to television experience, Jeff has also worked in the radio industry as a news and sports disk jockey.

Jeff enjoys golf, trivia, history and parenthood. He lives in Tampa with his wife and two daughters.
