Pasco man accused of smoking spice or flakka, attacking pregnant girlfriend

HOLIDAY, Fla. (WFLA) -- A pregnant woman told deputies her boyfriend "went crazy" and attacked her with a box cutter after smoking a drug that was either flakka or spice.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Glissade Drive and Grayton Drive in Holiday on Monday night after the woman called 911. She told deputies that Curtis Seitzer, 29, hit her with a box cutter multiple times on her head and body. She also said Seitzer kicked her multiple times in the stomach.

Terrified, the victim and a friend ran from the house. The suspect chased them.

"He was running through the streets chasing them and when law enforcement arrived," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said. "We found the victim and also found another person that was running through the neighborhoods, who said, 'Look, this guy is on something,' and it come back later on. The girlfriend says he was either on spice or smoking flakka."

The victim told Seitzer she was pregnant three weeks ago, deputies said.

She was taken to the hospital and was treated for a laceration on the right side of her head, a 3" cut on her arm, and scrapes and abrasions on her legs. Luckily, deputies said, the blade was in in the weapon at the time of the attack.

Deputies say they also interviewed a male roommate of Seitzer, who said Seitzer chased him out of the home with a box cutter and he feared for his life.

Seitzer was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery on a pregnant person and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Sheriff Nocco said flakka is becoming a bigger problem in his area. Until recently, he said, flakka has been more prevalent in south Florida.

"It's unfortunate. We're starting to see some more cases with Flakka going on," Nocco said.

While detectives were looking for Seitzer, he allegedly taunted them on social media.

"'I'm right here, if you want to come get me. Come get me.' Well, he didn't put his address if he really wanted to be caught or he knows where we are, but we went out hunted him down and we were able to catch him," Nocco said.

Seitzer is charged with aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon.
