Bucs fans loudly calling for Schiano's ouster

Posted: Updated:

The Bucs were front and center on Thursday night- the only nationally televised game that night was at Raymond James stadium, and the Bucs blew it, losing 31 to 13 against the Carolina Panthers.

Bucs Cornerback Darrelle Revis said, "I've never been oh and 7 before."

Coach Greg Schiano said, "It falls on me because as the head coach, I gotta make sure that all the assistant coaches are getting it across to our players and then our players are understanding and executing it out on the game field. That's what matters."

This has been a terrible trend as of late. The Bucs have lost the last 12 of 13 games dating back to last year.

In fact, the Bucs and 3 and 9 at home under Schiano, and fans are getting annoyed.

This week, a billboard appeared in Tampa calling for his firing. When asked if there should be coaching changes, Darrelle Revis sidestepped the question.

Revis said, "I don't know. The only thing I control is what I do on that field and that's play ball and help this team win."

After Thursday's game, many fans loudly booed Schiano as he left the field.

Once the sun rose on Friday, fans still weren't done.

Calls flooded into sports radio station 620 WDAE.

One caller said, "We need to rip his backside every time he comes into the stadium until they do fire him at the end of the year."

Greg Schiano's future, however long it may be, is the talk of the town.

Many of these fans who have near about given up.

A female caller said, "Yesterday I was offered free tickets to go see the Bucs and a parking pass, or I could go to the lightning game and pay for tickets and pay for parking. And i went to the lightning game and I paid for parking and I was so much better for it."

620 WDAE radio host Ian Beckles couldn't agree more.

Beckles said, "This is enough. I've personally had enough."

He said at his radio station, they couldn't even give tickets away.

Beckles said, "It's not funny when you can put 16 tickets on a table in a building full of people who don't make too much money, and nobody picks up the ticket! Not only do they not pick it up, you don't pick it up to give it to a friend, you don't know one person who wants a ticket!"

The former Bucs player thinks his former team could really use a boost, and getting rid of Schiano will help.

Beckles said, "The great coaches are guys like Andy Reid that go to a team and have the same players and win. We have good players and we're losing, so let somebody else try."

Beckles admits some assistant coaches are not doing well, and key players are not performing. But it all boils down to the head coach.

One caller said, "Look, I think the Glazers are going to let him go this weekend."

Beckles said, "I don't know where they can go from here. You have to literally throw a bomb in it, clean it up, and start from scratch."

And plenty of fans agree.
