ATLANTA (AP) - Alex Wood struck out 12 in eight dominant innings and Evan Gattis homered to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 1-0 Sunday. The Marlins had gone 60 games without getting shut out, the longest active streak in the majors.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Clay Buchholz threw a three-hitter to stop his string of seven starts without a win, leading the Boston Red Sox over the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 Sunday. Buchholz walked none and struck out six. Only one runner reached second base during his second shutout this season and sixth of his career.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been awarded offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and re-signed six players who were in training camp with them to the practice squad. To make room for Gilkey, the Bucs waived offensive lineman Josh Allen from the 53-man roster Sunday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded second-year tight end Mickey Shuler off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. The Jaguars waived rookie tight end Marcel Jensen to make room for Shuler on the 53-man roster. Shuler spent the preseason with Atlanta before being waived Saturday.
