TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Olympic gold medalist David Boudia will lead the American diving team at the world championships in Barcelona, Spain, in July. The 15-member team was selected during trials that ended yesterday at Florida State's Morcom Aquatics Center. Boudia easily qualified on the men's 10-meter platform. That's the event he won at the London Olympics last summer.

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Marlins defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 last night. Alex Sanabia outpitched Cole Hamels in a matchup of struggling starters. Justin Ruggiano and Nick Green each drove in two runs for Miami in front of a season-low crowd of 13,231 at Marlins Park. Sanabia (3-6) allowed one run and seven hits over 6 1-3 innings.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville man faces a possible life sentence after pleading guilty to fatally stabbing a Chicago fan at a popular waterfront shopping area before a Bears/Jaguars football game last fall. Matthew Reid Hinson pleaded guilty today to second-degree murder.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia baseball coach David Perno has resigned after a 12-year tenure that included three trips to the College World Series but fell on hard times in recent seasons. The resignation was announced Monday by athletic director Greg McGarity.
