HOUSTON (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run double, and Jordany Valdespin added a two-run home run to power the Miami Marlins to a 7-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. Christian Yelich had two hits, including an RBI single. Valdespin hit his first homer of the season in the ninth off Chad Qualls. Tom Koehler (7-7) gave up three runs and nine hits with two strikeouts in five innings.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Ben Zobrist homered, Matt Joyce and Kevin Kiermaier each had an RBI single, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the skidding Boston Red Sox 3-0 Saturday night for their ninth consecutive victory. The stretch is the second-longest in team history, three short of a 12-game winning streak in June 2004.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Josh McCown expects the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be better this season. He's just reluctant to speculate how much. The 35-year-old quarterback is beginning his 13th NFL training camp/ The Bucs signed the career backup, who's coming off the best season of his career, in March and new coach Lovie Smith is counting on him to provide steady leadership for an offense that ranked 30th in scoring and dead last in passing and total yardage en route to a 4-12 finish a year ago.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - At the end of practice, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley screamed running back Toby Gerhart's name, summoning him to break down the team huddle. It was recognition for how well Gerhart performed during the first two days of training camp. In time, Gerhart might get more comfortable in a lead role. He'll certainly get the chance in Jacksonville, which plans to get him 15 to 20 carries a game this season. Gerhart says he's "ready to carry the load."
