MIAMI (AP) - A fungus carried by an invasive beetle from Asia is killing trees across the Everglades. Experts haven't found a way to stop the laurel wilt since it was first detected west of Miami in 2011. It has killed swamp bay trees scattered across 330,000 acres of the Everglades.

KEY LARGO, Fla. (AP) - A 71-year-old Georgia man has died while snorkeling off Key Largo. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says John Marshall of Johns Creek was with nine others while snorkeling off a 25-foot private boat yesterday. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida's blueberry growers say this blossoming crop is threatened by a shrinking supply of pine bark. A shortage of the bark has left some scrambling to find a supplier with enough to sell. Limestone in some parts of Florida leave the soil too alkaline for blueberries, so growers have relied on layers of pine bark to lower the pH.

MIAMI (AP) - At least 25 vintage cars have been damaged in a warehouse fire in Miami. Owner Ted Vernon was in North Carolina to film his car-themed television show, "South Beach Classics," when the fire broke out. Firefighters say the fire appears suspicious.
