STARKE, Fla. (AP) - Florida has executed a man convicted of murdering two relatives to prevent one of them from testifying against him in a burglary trial. Robert Hendrix was pronounced dead at 6:21 last night at Florida State Prison in Starke, shortly after the lethal injection procedure began.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - An investigation is underway after firefighters in Jacksonville found a body inside a burning mobile home. The body was discovered early today.

PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man faces manslaughter charges in the death of his mother. Authorities say 62-year-old Richard Guyton Mathews is being held on $250,000 bail at the Flagler County Jail after his arrest yesterday afternoon. Mary Shaw Mathews was found dead Feb. 21 inside her home.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - A growing number of families are living in hotels along U.S. 192 in central Florida's tourist corridor because they can't afford anything else and Osceola County has no shelters for the estimated 1,216 homeless households with children. The issue also shines a light on the gap among those who work and live in the Disney's shadow, and the tourists who flock there.
